Allow setting of domain name in the __utma cookie so that multiple subdomains can be tracked under a single profile id

description

The first element of the utma cookie sent to GoogleAnalytics is the hash code of the domain name that data should be associated with.
Currently the MSAF always sets that to "0".
One of the options in GoogleAnalytics is to set the domain name to .mydomain.com to allow tracking of analytics from multiple subdomains like myservice.mydomain.com and myservice2.mydomain.com under a single web profile id. I can then filter on the subdomains as desired in my reports. I'd like to request that you add a mechanism for setting the Domain Name to be used in the
utma portion of the gif url sent to the GoogleAnalytics service.
Thanks.

Hello,

I would like to be able to set subdomains!

As a workaround, I tried to use google analytics measurement protocol APIs, but Silverlight expects a crossdomain file on Google servers.

Obviously I cannot invoke this API from server side, so I don't know what to do.

Any thoughts?

Igor.
